Introducing Sage 100 2026

Sage 100 2026 Key New Features
Sage 100 Version 2026 is now available. Let’s explore some of the newest features and key enhancements that are included in the latest release.

New Sage 100 AI Help Agent

The new AI-powered Sage Help Agent provides quick answers to common Sage 100 questions such as “How do I reverse a check”, “How do I fix a bank reconciliation imbalance”, and similar queries. On the Home tab, simply click the Sage Help Agent button to use the agent in your Desktop browser.  Alternatively, you can also access the agent on the Information Center page.

Currently, it’s essentially limited to providing answers derived from the Sage 100 Help files. Eventually, the Help Agent will likely expand its reach to the Sage 100 Knowledgebase and more broadly on the web. But for now, it’s a pretty handy way to get quick and easy answers to common challenges and step by step processes in Sage 100.

Enhanced Inventory Tracking and Pricing

A collection of new or enhanced features aimed at streamlining inventory management as well as lot/serial number tracking were rolled out in Sage 100 2026.

Expanded Lot/Serial Number Field
The lot/serial number field has expanded from 15 to 50 characters across most of the modules that deal with inventory. This was a popular request from customers that submitted their feedback through the Sage 100 Ideas website.

Lot/Serial Number Conversion Utility
Because existing lot/serial numbers are not automatically converted to the new 50-character length (mentioned above), a new Lot/Serial Number Conversion Utility has been added to the Utilities menu. Use this utility if you want to convert your existing numeric lot/serial numbers to the new length of 50 characters.

Expanded Price Level Field
Another idea requested by Sage 100 customers includes expansion of the Price Level field from 1 to 15 characters across several modules, forms, tasks, and reports that track and manage inventory.

Expanded Package Tracking Number field
The Sales Order Package Tracking Number field has been expanded from 30 to 40 characters to fit the longer tracking numbers used by shipping carriers and services, such as FedEx Ground and DHL eCommerce.

Track Lot Code Source
You can now track lot code source and country of origin for items on the FDA Food Traceability List (FTL) that must be tracked per the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). The lot code source is a 50-character alphanumeric field that identifies the location where the original lot code was assigned.

Sage 100 Global Search

Previously, Sage 100 would perform searches within specific modules when looking up records like customers, vendors, or inventory items. But with the new Global Search button located on the Home tab, you can now search across modules and your entire Sage 100 system to find the information and records you’re looking for (yet another idea submitted by customers and implemented in the product).

Enhanced System Security and Performance

First, password validation and security have been enhanced in Sage 100 2026 through various new options and setup screens. Plus, you can set the number of hours the software can be inactive before a user is automatically logged out.

Second, users can click the new Show/Hide button next to each Password field in Sage 100 to double-check the value you're entering. After tabbing off the Password field, the password can no longer be viewed.

Third, you now have the option to retain an audit trail of all changes, deletions, and additions to role and user information.

Lastly since Microsoft ended support for the 32-bit Windows platform last year, Sage 100 2026 is now fully-transitioned to a 64-bit application which offers better performance and scalability going forward.

Customer and Community-Requested Features

Sage 100 2026 is packed with new or improved features that were originally inspired by feedback from the Sage community including customers and Sage 100 Business Partners. Some of them are already covered above in this article. However, here’s a look at just a few more we didn’t mention previously.

Hyperlinks that Help You Work Faster
Hyperlinks to related tasks (i.e. Vendor Inquiry or Customer Inquiry) have been added in A/P Invoice History Inquiry, A/R Invoice History Inquiry, and RMA Inquiry, making it easier to access relevant supporting data while you work.

User-Defined Fields (UDFs) Are Now Flagged
To help you more easily identify tables that have one or more UDFs defined in User-Defined Field and Table Maintenance, the [UDF] tag now displays after the table name. You can also use the Table Search feature to search for UDF and all tables with this tag will display.

Improved Product Line Maintenance Workflow
The order of tabs in Product Line Maintenance has changed to support a more efficient user workflow. Lot/Serial is now the second tab, and Accounts is the third.

Consolidated Emails in Paperless Office
You can now consolidate multiple forms into one email for a specific customer or vendor and selected form. For example, if you're sending 10 invoices to a customer, then only one email with all 10 invoices will be sent instead of 10 individual emails.

Access Sales Order Memos in Shipping Data Entry
A Memo button has been added next to the Order Number field in Shipping Data Entry, making it easier to access sales order memos on the fly.

Print Sales Order Picking Sheets to PDF
You can now print Sales Order picking sheets to PDF and email them to recipients in the warehouse.
