Like Shakespeare famously asks ... to upgrade or not to upgrade? That's the question on the minds of many Sage 100 ERP customers now that Sage 100 ERP Version 2014 is available for download. You may be wondering whether or not you should upgrade your system now, or wait for a future release.

We recently blogged about all the new features and enhancements in Sage 100 version 2014. But if that wasn't enough to satisfy your appetite, here are the 10 more reasons to consider.

1. Leverage Cloud Connectivity

Sage 100 ERP Version 2014 allows you to connect your on-premise system to the Sage Data Cloud - opening up your business to a world of add-on applications. By connecting to Sage Data Cloud, you can selectively leverage the cloud where it makes sense for your business processes - while the rest of your "core" system remains on-premises. It's cloud convenience on YOUR terms.

2. Get Paid Faster

Give your customers the convenience of paying bills online with Sage Billing and Payment. This new subscription based application helps you get paid faster by providing your customers with a 24/7 self-service web portal so that they can manage their accounts and make payments anytime it’s convenient for them.

3. Empower Your Sales Team

The native ipad app Sage Mobile Sales provides your salespeople with the information and tools they need to impress customers and close more sales out in the field. Sage Mobiles Sales helps salespeople throughout the sales process - from customer purchase history and inventory levels to entering orders and taking payment.

4. Reduce Inventory, Increase Profit

The new cloud-based Sage Inventory Advisor helps you reduce excess inventory and lower carrying costs while eliminating stock-outs. Sage Inventory Advisor works by continuously monitoring and analyzing your system's data to provide improved stock forecasting and optimal replenishment recommendations.

5. CRM Goes Mobile

Go mobile with Sage 100 ERP 2014 and 2 new Sage CRM Mobile apps designed to help your salespeople connect with customers and track sales on-the-go.

6. A More Intelligent Dashboard

The new profitability dashboard for Sage 100 ERP Intelligence Reporting gives you at-a-glance profitability snapshots of your customers, products, and salespeople.

7. Search Faster

Find the customer, vendor, or item records you need faster with the new Auto-complete feature in Sage 100 ERP 2014 . Much like you're probably accustomed to when doing a Google search, simply begin typing in what you know (item name or description) and Sage 100 ERP will automatically populate a selection of closely-related matches.

8. Search Easier

The Search Grid window has been updated to make search easier. The Column Name field now defaults to the first column name in the grid instead of row number when performing a "find."

9. Simplified Custom Reporting

Now in Sage 100 ERP 2014 you'll be able to keep the print window open after printing or previewing of custom and financial reports. This is one of the most popular requests submitted by Sage 100 customers through the Ideas portal.

10. Quick Invoice Lookup

Find invoices quickly and easily with the new Invoice List button in Accounts Payable Invoice Data Entry, Repetitive Invoice Entry, and Accounts Receivable Repetitive Invoice Data Entry.
