SageCRM.com Product Scheduled for Retirement
While technical support will continue to be available through August 31st, after that date you will no longer be able to access SageCRM.com.
In a statement, Sage said the decision will enable the company to focus time and resources more efficiently.
Sage CRM On-Premises NOT Affected
The on-premises version of Sage CRM that integrates with your Sage ERP system (i.e. Sage 100, Sage 300, etc) is not affected. The only product that is being retired is SageCRM.com which Sage hosted themselves on behalf of customers.
Planning for Retirement
If you’re currently using SageCRM.com, Sage is recommending that you plan ahead and start your transition before August 31, 2019. Specifically, you should backup your database and download a copy to a separate location.
Instructions for downloading your database can be found here.

Sage FY18 Annual Report & Financial Results
Organic Revenue Growth: 6.8% in 2018 vs 7.8% in 2017
Organic Operating Margin: 27.8% in 2018 vs 28% in 2017
Recurring Revenue: £1,441 million in 2018 vs £1,351 million in 2017
Moving to the Cloud and Subscription
The company says it has made further progress in the evolution towards a cloud and subscription-led business, highlighting that 46% of Sage Group revenue is now on subscription. Sage Group reports that the strategy to move customers from desktop to a cloud connected solution has been particularly successful, while attracting customers to a cloud native solution also gained traction.
Sage Enterprise Management (formerly Sage X3), for larger businesses, continues to be a successful tool to acquire new customers, growing at 11%, with over 70 larger contracts signed in the year.
However, progress in FY18 has not been as rapid as anticipated. In the first half of FY18 in some areas of the business, there remained inconsistent operational execution and too much emphasis on perpetual license sales instead of a focus on high-quality recurring revenue growth. As a result, Group organic revenue growth was less than the anticipated 8% outlined at the start of the year. Likely as a result (speculation), Stephen Kelly stepped down as a Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 31 August 2018 as we announced previously here on Top Sage Resellers.
As the company looks forward to 2019, creating a SaaS business model (cloud-based solution, recurring revenue/subscription) remains a top priority.
