In making the announcement at Sage Summit, CEO Stephen Kelly points out that “ERP” is a legacy term with a bumpy history for many businesses.
“We believe ERP is a 25 year old industry term, characterized by cost overrun, and in some cases even business ruin. To the finance directors of the world, ERP stands for Expense, Regret, Pain.”
It seems the point that Kelly is trying to make is that the technology landscape has changed over the last several years and Sage aims to innovate so their software products are easier to implement, easier to use, and less disruptive to business operations.
