What's New in Sage Intacct 2026

Sage Intacct 2026 R1 is now available. Released on February 13th, many of the newest features in Sage Intacct 2026 leverage AI to accelerate decision-making and reduce manual work. With even more analytics, more workflow automation, and more business intelligence, Sage Intacct Cloud ERP maximizes your time so that you focus less on data management and more on business management.

Here’s a look at what’s new in the latest Sage Intacct 2026 Release 1 (R1).

More Automation for Closing the Books

The new Close Analytics feature is an AI-powered tool that delivers insight into close performance through interactive charts, historical trends, and bottleneck detection. Finance teams can track days-to-close across entities and periods, identify recurring handoff issues, and improve close consistency and control.

Close Analytics provides both real-time and historical close performance metrics so you have a better understanding of trends and can more easily spot recurring delays that affect close timelines.

New Finance Intelligence Agent

Leveraging Sage Copilot – an AI-powered productivity assistant we’ve highlighted in other recent releases – the new Finance Intelligence Agent delivers instant answers and insights from your Sage Intacct Data.

You can ask questions in plain English and get instant answers and supporting data that can reveal trends, provide detail to see what’s driving the numbers, and help guide decision-making and action items. What’s more, you don’t just see what changed, but also why it changed.

Line-Level Matching in AP

Line-Level matching in AP Automation uses AI to help you match vendor invoices with more precision.  It automatically matches each invoice line to the corresponding purchase order and receipt line so you can confirm that what you’re paying for matches what you ordered and received.

When there’s a price or quantity mismatch, it’s easy to spot the discrepancy at the line level and take proper action. In a nutshell, line-level matching in AP Automation helps to quickly identify and prevent overbilling, duplicate payments, and mismatches before you make payment.

General Ledger Account Reconciliation

GL Account Reconciliation provides a clear, organized way of matching offsetting debit and credit lines posted to balance sheet accounts. Rather than scanning long lists of posted entries, you can instead quickly pair lines that belong together and filter out what’s already matched – leaving only unmatched transactions so you can focus on what needs attention and get your work done in a more focused and efficient way.

Sage Intacct 2026 also added a new GL account reconciliations activity report to work together with this new feature.

Industry-Focused Enhancements

A variety of new or enhanced industry-specific features have been rolled out with the release of Sage Intacct 2026 R1. Here’s a quick look at some key new capabilities:

Project Management
New tools and functions in Project Management enable faster project updates and easier project closeout. The new Manage Projects feature allows you to select multiple projects and mass update project fields in one quick action rather than several separate individual tasks. In addition, you can also streamline month-end project closeout activities by updating projects in bulk.

Geofencing in Time Tracking
The new Geofencing feature in Sage Intelligent Time allows you to set virtual boundaries around job sites or client locations. With permission, the Sage Intelligent Time and Expense mobile app can track the location of employees and confirm where they are when clocking in or out. This gives you clear visibility into whether employees are inside the designated boundaries at the time of their shift.

Asset Management: Construction in Progress (CIP)
Sage Fixed Assets Management – integrated with Sage Intacct ERP - now supports end‑to‑end Construction in Progress (CIP) asset acquisition, tracking, and capitalization. With this enhancement, you can manage long‑term capital projects, such as buildings, infrastructure, or custom equipment, directly in Sage Intacct. Bills and invoices coded to CIP GL accounts can automatically create CIP assets and track spending.

Flexible Retainage Release
Sage Intacct Construction Edition more easily allows you to release retainage across all invoice lines with the new flexible retainage release feature. You can release vendor retainage directly from the primary purchasing document, so there’s no need to jump around between screens and multiple records to get the job done. And when it’s time to release, you can release retainage on a percentage basis across all invoices for a PO or subcontract for faster bulk processing.

Other Notable Enhancements

Here’s a collection of new features or enhancements in other areas of Sage Intacct 2026 that we think are noteworthy:

  • The new AI-powered Import Agent simplifies complex data imports using natural language transformations and flexible mapping.

  • Cash Intelligence offers a single-screen view of short-term cash position, expected requirements, and forecasted changes.

  • Customer Payment Services, powered by Fortis, introduces a secure, self-service experience for customers to make electronic payments.

  • The new Work Order Dimension feature in Work Order Management allows you to track and manage service-related work orders at scale in a dedicated application built to handle a high volume of shorter-duration jobs.
