The Future of Sage 500 ERP

Sage 500 End of Life

Sage 500 End of Life? Not So Fast …

Two years ago during a keynote speech at Sage Summit 2012, Sage announced plans to continue to “develop and support Sage 500 at least through the end of 2017.”

The problem is most journalists, blog posts, and articles that followed interpreted the announcement as an “End of Life” (or “retirement”) statement for Sage 500 ERP.

But those opinions & interpretations were wrong!

Here's why ...

Fast Forward: Sage Summit 2014

Just recently at Sage Summit 2014, Sage clarified their original statements from 2012, announcing their renewed commitment to Sage 500 ERP including:

  • Continued support through at least 2020
  • Annual releases, service packs, and a published roadmap that covers the next few years
  • Continued new features, enhanced functionality, and integration with cloud-based add-on applications

In short, Sage 500 ERP will NOT be retired in 2017.

There is no definitive "End of Life" for Sage 500 and it just might be around for a very long time despite what the rumor mill is churning out.

What’s Next for Sage 500 Customers?

For the next few years, it’s business as usual. You’ll see new releases and new features that will enhance your investment in Sage 500 and extend the reach of your ERP system into the cloud.
